Pre Press Tips
To help process your jobs in a more efficient and timely manner, we are asking our customers to use the following criteria, if possible:
- We accept art and documents in either MAC or PC format.
- Documents can be set up in Quark or InDesign. Art can be provided from Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Freehand.
- We will accept a Press Ready PDF for Artwork.
- Please save PDF with these specs:
- Press Quality
- Keep Colors "as is"
- Use OPI "Include Images"
- Registration on "offset" 6pt.
- Word Documents will be accepted to use as TEXT ONLY. Art files, fonts and a PDF showing layout must accompany the Word Document.
- When collecting files in Quark, DO NOT use the option key. Use the "Collect for output" option under "File".
- When adjusting halftones, please compensate for a 15% dot gain for any web printing and a 10% dot gain on the jet printers.
- Provide all fonts used in the document and any artwork. Please make sure both screen and printer fonts are provided.
- All color artwork must be created in Pantone Unprocessed colors unless the job IS a FOUR COLOR PROCESS.
- Page Setup
- Page setup should be set to the document size.
- Do Not create crop marks.
- Any copy outside the document will not print, except for bleeds from the actual document.
- Bleeds should be indicated by overlapping by at least 1/8" to 1/4".
- Back Copy should be treateds as page 2.
- When providing EPS artwork, please provide original file along with the EPS.
- Bitmap artwork should be 600dpi or greater and halftones 150-300dpi.
- Image area for Web printing surface cannot exceed 21.625" or 27.625" depending on quote. Web printing cannot exceed 6 colors.
- Jet printing is capable of two colors, two sides each pass.
- We accept digital art through email and our ftp site. Info for ftp site will be provided upon request. Please email artwork to:

- Please stuff/compress files before sending art via email or ftp. Unstuffed artwork and fonts can become corrupt and unusable.
